Kilian 'White Cristal'

Having trained with the greatest noses in perfumery and worked for perfume houses such as Christian Dior, Paco Rabanne, Alexander McQueen, and Giorgio Armani, Kilian launched his own brand that reflects not only his expertise but his heritage. Heir to a long line of cognac makers, Kilian has put a personal spin on his family's tradition by creating uncompromisingly luxurious fragrances that are redolent of the sugar in alcohol and the wood of cognac barrels. My personal favorite the 'White Cristal' is a fragrance inspired by Rum, a life-giving alcohol blending the heat of Caribbean islands. The leitmotif here is Rum, a sexy note with Patchouli. The mystery of its aura is deepened by Nutmeg, Cedar and Brazilian Rosewood. This life-giving alcohol definitely leads us into temptation, an invitationto partake of forbidden fruit.

Armparty

As you can see from the samples, there is not one correct way to create the correct armparty. From a full tailored look to a very sporty look you can use bracelets to complete the look depending on your personal style and taste. The key to what makes it look good lies in the balance of the colors and the correct choice of different styles.

Accept the Bracelet

Some have embraced the trend for a number of years now, but spring/summer 2011 is definitely when the trend took off. The important clue is that it should never look like you tried too hard. The bracelets should always complement your watch and rest of your style. You could choose, gold, silver, beads, leather, rope in variety of colors depending on rest of your look. You should adapt them daily depending on what you are wearing, to match colors etc. They look well worn when you match the colors with the socks, ties or pocket squares. These simple and elegant Tateossian bracelets in variety of colors are great to start making some combinations. As you develop some experience, you can take it to the next step.

It is like in the tailoring world where first you have to learn how to use different fabrics and colors together. There are different colors and materials to choose from. Follow your instinct and keep practicing you will get it right. Just don't over do it, keep it simple and classy.

Which is your favorite Rolex color? Maybe one of each...

Camouflage Impact

While it’s hard to point out the exact moment when the army influence began affecting street-wear trends, it might just be safer to assume that the ongoing affair between military and fashion spans its long-lasting existence over many decades. Never really gone for good, the military aesthetic is constantly determining the shapes of the current trends, evolving in order to translate to modern but standing its ground. Knowing that fashion is inspired by and reflects the general tendencies in the world, the message that comes out is pretty sad. Unfortunately we are all aware of the unrest situation spread all over the world, especially in the middle east and Africa as well as Ukraine. Even though the fashion world is conscious about emphasizing and attracting attention to war in the world, it seems to have lost its purpose as a statement and has been over done and exploited. If you just take a look for a moment at some of the samples that the camo print has been applied, you will understand my point. I only ask you to keep is simple and classy...

The woman of Helmut Newton

Newton's woman is unable to care for anyone but herself. But then being unable to care for anyone is self-defeating, which is why she is invariably isolated, even when she seems to relate intensely to others. She is in fact incapable of establishing any intimate relationship -- only a perverse one.

Montomery / Duffle Coat

The duffle coat owes its popularity to the British Royal Navy, who issued a camel-coloured variant of it as an item of warm clothing during World War I. The design of the coat was modified slightly and widely issued during World War II. In the Navy, it was referred to as a "convoy coat". Field Marshal Montgomery was a famous wearer of the coat, as a means of identifying himself with his troops, leading to another nickname, "Monty coat".

The café racer is a light and lightly powered motorcycle that has been modified for speed and handling rather than comfort. The bodywork and control layout of a café racer typically mimicked the style of a contemporary Grand Prix roadracer, featuring an elongated fuel tank, often with dents to allow the rider's knees to grip the tank, low slung racing handlebars, and a single-person, elongated, humped seat.

Yacht club look

With summer knocking at the door, we are already planning our looks for different events that wait ahead. If you are a yacht club kind of guy, you know that red, blue and white are indispensable colors. Lets try to add a twist to our marine look with a pair of Christian Louboutin's. Above the waist, we can still keep our traditional look with the club tie, or a regimental tie and our pocket square with a Borsalino hat.

Laurence Fellows defined a very specific, very masculine world. Unlike today’s fashion magazines, Apparel Arts didn’t dictate fashion trends by using underfed models in unwearable suits. It showed what was already being worn by the well-heeled, trend-setting folk. Fellows’ genius as an illustrator lay in his ability to depict them in their everyday activities. Whether they were traveling the world, hosting dinner parties, hunting grouse, or just lounging around the penthouse or club, Fellows somehow made their rarified universe accessible. Ordinary folks could look at the illustrations and say, “I could wear that.”

A touch of orange

In general orange hue is a warm and a happy color. It comes across slightly more intense than yellow and less aggressive then red. Very strong peacoat in orange supported by a touch orange only in the belt making this combination wearable. Great use of accessories such as the hat and the bracelets. As you can see the gentleman toned down the orange with shades of black which other wise would be a disaster.

Touch of orange in the accessories to bring some energy into a very classic double-breasted cream jacket with brass buttons. I would have used another pocket square with a dark navy base and maybe a touch orange in the pattern. The pattern could be a paisley or polka-dots.

Well balanced bright orange pants with a navy velvet jacket. Good choice of shoes, not taking the attention from the pants. Nice touch of orange with the wristband of the watch and the tie with small navy dots. The pocket square should have been something more basic such as a hand-rolled linen in plain white, maybe with light blue piping.

Velvet slippers

Velvet slippers also known as the Prince Albert slipper, and initially designed as a house shoe for Victorian men hosting formal dinner parties in their homes. There is a very strong trend to get the modern slippers in a modern guy's wardrobe. Brands from Alberto Moretti to Christian Louboutin are pushing these traditional slippers in a fun and twisted way. Most brands allow customers to make personalization's from stitching initials to laser printing one's favorite photograph. It is also very important to state that velvet slippers have replaced patent shoes complimenting tuxedos in a more dapper way.
