1930's Laurence Fellows Illustration

Fellows’ technique as a fashion illustrator was more painterly and detailed than his earlier commercial work. The man could draw fabric, plain and simple. His fabric had weight, heft, drape, texture, and sheen. His flannels, worsteds, tweeds, and linens, his barathea and velvet and twill were all fabulous.

Blinged Monopoly

Monopoly is an American-originated board game originally published by Parker Brothers. Subtitled "The Fast-Dealing Property Trading Game", the game is named after the economic concept of monopoly—the domination of a market by a single entity. An 18-karat gold version of the famous Parker Brothers board game will be on display beginning Friday at the Museum of American Finance. The gold and jewel-encrusted Monopoly is estimated to be worth roughly $2 million. The set of dice alone is valued at $10,000, with 42 full-cut diamonds for the number dots. All of the properties that make up the game board are also set in gems, with some 165 gemstones in total. The “Chance” and “Community Chest” cards are photo-etched.

Legendary Porsche 356

It was the company's first production automobile. While the first prototype 356 had a mid-engine layout, all later 356's had a rear-mounted layout. Today, the Porsche 356 is a highly regarded collector car.

Mix'em up

With the arrival of pre-spring, the summer mood is already in the air in many parts of the world. Break all traditional rules and don't be afraid to be creative. Colored and patterned socked are a great way to stir things up. Make sure to wear them with short and fitted pants. You can always match the color of the laces with a color from the socks. Don't be shy and give it a try.

Who needs precision?

For all those against the system and conventional approaches to life!

Adidas & Barbour Collaboration

The British label has evolved into a full complement of apparel for men and ladies, and they’ve teamed up with adidas Originals to bring forth new clothing and footwear options slated to hit stores in time for the descent into autumn in October 2014.

Colored pants

Nothing you wear should ever make you feel physically or psychologically uncomfortable. Menswear is, for most of us, pretty limited. This is all the more true when it comes to your bottom half. Be careful to tone down the rest of the look. Don't be afraid to wear colored pants. Don't forget, if it feels right, it looks right!

Barber Wire Midnight Slippers

Great hand made slippers by Matthew Cookson in cotton velvet, with satin quilted lining and leather sole made in England. Should always be worn with short and slim pants or dressy shorts.

G-Shock in Red

Casio added a new color version to the popular X-Large series. It has red resin band in matte finish with shock resistant, 200M water resistance and a magnetic structure.

Short, short, short...

Clearly this is a man of personal taste and style. Even though I am a big supporter of stirring things up, I think there are some pointers we can discuss. The figure in the picture belongs to a very athletic and built man which brings many constraints to his styling. The jacket is way too short both in the length and the sleeves. The pants are worn very low, and rolled up too much. I do understand and appreciate the idea of trying to give credit to the socks. Last but not least, I don't think I can ever get used to the idea of buttoning up the lower button even tough it may be considered a personal taste.

Red Double-Breasted

Red has always been associated with anger because of the way it affects your nervous system.  It speeds up the metabolism, dilates the pupils, energizes.  It's a very powerful color worn by those seeking attention. Because of its tendency to draw attention, it is also seen as intimidating and can cause others to shy away from the wearer.  It is best worn by those with outgoing personalities and loads of self-confidence. The bold red double-breasted jacket has been toned down just right with a solid blue shirt and a solid navy tie to keep it still elegant.

Customized bobber style Harley Davidson

A bobber is a custom motorcycle that usually has had the front fender removed, the rear fender "bobbed" (made smaller), and all superfluous parts removed to reduce weight. Bobbers are related to choppers in that they represent a minimalistic approach where the motorcycle is stripped of parts or accessories not needed but bobbers generally retain the characteristics of the stock frame.

Renditions of some of the 80 crocodile logos prepared for the 80th year of Lacoste

Jean René Lacoste  explained the origin of his nickname, "le Crocodile: " The American press nicknamed me 'the Crocodile' after a bet that I made with the Captain of the French Davis Cup team. He had promised me a crocodile-skin suitcase if I won a match that was important for our team. The American public stuck to this nickname, which highlighted my tenacity on the tennis courts, never giving up my prey! So my friend Robert George drew me a crocodile which was embroidered on the blazer that I wore on the courts.

Collaboration of Pendleton and Dr.Martens

Don't let winter stop you from wearing colors

The classical menswear world has come a long way in order to break many boundaries and social taboos regarding image and masculinity. Today we are able to show masculinity by using the bravest colors and combinations. The feminization of men and the masculinization of women in the past decade has contributed a lot to this result. There were certain unwritten rules that everybody went by and wearing white pants with purple socks and bright yellow gloves was not one of this, I can assure you. I think it looks great and shows a lot of personality. I invite everybody to observe and understand before judging.

Customized original bobber style

This style of custom motorcycle, which took shape in the 1940s and 50s, is generally thought to have been started by returning WWII American servicemen working on ex-military motorcycles, and inspired by lighter European motorcycles they had seen and ridden. When bobbers were first created, the intent was not to create a new type of motorcycle or sub-genre, the idea was to keep motorcycles on the road for as cheaply as possible.

Kiss me and see what happens...

Even though our work is style, looks, fashion etc. we must never forget that looks can be very misleading and we should never judge people solely on their appearances. Like our friend the "frog", you never know what you are going to get under that disguise.

Words of Wisdom by Gianni Versace

'Don’t be into trends. Don’t make fashion own you, but you decide what you are, what you want to express by the way you dress and the way you live.' - Gianni Versace

"Le Smoking" of Yves Saint Laurent from the great eyes of Helmut Newton

The Algerian-born designer Yves Saint Laurent changed the womenswear world with "le smoking", a tuxedo suit of velvet or wool—black-tie menswear reinterpreted for the female form. Helmut Newton captured the power of this androgynous stance in 1975 for French Vogue.

Jimmy Choo & Alberto Moretti

To beautiful but completely different styles. Jimmy Choo is more of a seasonal fashion statement with an oriental inspiration. One could only wear such a shoe on few selected occasions to make an entrance. However the Alberto Moretti has taken a very classical shape and injected tartan piping and details to make it that much dapper which can be worn anywhere, anytime.

1930' Laurence Fellows Illustration

In the 1930s that Fellows found the niche that would shape the lives of dandies for the next 80 years: fashion illustration. Though he contributed to Vanity Fair, McClure’s, and The American Magazine, among other publications, it was men’s fashion where he was most in demand, and Apparel Arts, aimed at the tailoring trade, and Esquire were his showcases.

Smoke'em!

The beautiful perforated leather driving gloves by Meisturwerk Machinen holding a partagas cigar accompanied by bracelets from Oskargydell Design and Anilarjandas reflect a very confident attitude.

Men with bags?

Any man of fashion knows that bags have become a necessary tool and style accessory. No longer seen as solely a woman’s item, men’s bags are masculine, attractive and ideal additions to any contemporary wardrobe.

Safe & Stylish

Traditional tailoring with a touch of pink polka dot pocket square to change the mood.

Sporty but still elegant

The coat in pale brick color takes confidence to wear. The look is dressed-up by a Atelier de Monaco watch and with gloves in bi-material completing the coat in harmony.

Italian style of modern classic

It is a very well balanced look completed with a gold Rolex. The colors, patterns, fabrics and accessories speak in silence rather than scream. However I would have preferred a gold buckle for the double-monks to complete better this look.

Break the monotony

Even though the frequency is right of the usage of burgundy, I still feel that it is too much and too easy. The body of the contrast collar, the regimental tie, stitching details of the jacket, pocket square, cuff links, the tassels of the fringed loafer are all burgundy. I would have inserted green or purple to break the monotonousness of the burgundy. Also, unless he is wearing jeans or sports pants, the shoes are unacceptable under a suit.

Be A Real Man

Can you recall the last time you did this?

Shoe Guide

What time is it?...

QLOCKTWO W by Beigert & Funk brings the ingenious concept of telling the time with words to your wrist. At first glance, it appears to be nothing more than a matrix of seemingly randomly arranged letters. Only the gentle touch of a button reveals IT IS HALF PAST EIGHT. Words are displayed at five-minute intervals, while four small dots give the precise time in minutes.

Don't Be A Fashion Victim! Be Dapper!

It is always better to have your own style and wear no name clothes then being a fashion victim, dressing up in only branded clothes drowning in logos from top-to-toe, everything matching perfect just like you are about to go on stage anytime. Fashion victims have no real taste or style. The mark of a true fashion victim is wearing every faddish trend that comes out.
